Joseph A. Buttigieg

Joseph Anthony Buttigieg II (1947–2019) was a Maltese-American literary scholar, translator, and philologist. He served as the William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of English at the University of Notre Dame until his retirement in 2017. He is widely recognized for his work as a co-translator and co-editor of the three-volume English edition of Antonio Gramsci's Prison Notebooks, contributing significantly to the fields of literary theory and English studies.
