Oliver Bierhoff, former national all-star and manager of the German men's soccer team, was surprised by Schmeken's special view of "his" discipline, which led to a collaborative project: from early 2011 onward, the photographer accompanied the national team to international games, including the 2012 European championships in Poland and the Ukraine. This publication documents the men's encounter and play with the ball as if it were choreography--captured from an impressive perspective.
