This book was published on the occasion of the exhibitions Cy Twombly at Gagosian, 980 Madison Avenue, New York, and Cy Twombly, which inaugurated the new gallery at Grosvenor Hill, London. The publication comprises two hardcover books—one devoted to each exhibition—and a booklet featuring a text by art historian Briony Fer, held together in a slipcase. The New York volume highlights a group of the last paintings and sculptures made by Twombly, between 1998 and 2009, many of which had never before been seen publicly. The London volume features paintings, including two previously unseen large Bacchus works, four sculptures from the 2000s, several works on paper from 1969, and three folios of drawings from 1984–2002. Along with the plate images, each book includes numerous details and installation views of the exhibition.
