William Heick
William Heick (1916–2012) was a San Francisco-based photographer and filmmaker recognized for his ethnographic documentation of North American Indigenous cultures. Serving as a producer and cinematographer for the University of California, Berkeley, he captured the lives of the Kwakiutl, Hupa, and Navajo peoples. His notable documentary work includes Pomo Shaman and Sucking Doctor, which are regarded as significant records of aboriginal ceremonies.
