Tomas Venclova

Tomas Venclova is a Lithuanian poet, scholar, and translator. A founding member of the Lithuanian Helsinki Group, he emigrated in 1977 after his dissident activities led to the revocation of his Soviet citizenship. Since 1980, he has taught Russian and Polish literature at Yale University. He is recognized for his contributions to world literature and has received numerous honors, including the Prize of Two Nations.
