Stokley Carmichael

Kwame Ture, born Stokley Carmichael, was a Trinidadian-American activist who played a pivotal role in the U.S. civil rights movement and the global pan-African movement. He rose to prominence as a leader of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and later served as the Honorary Prime Minister of the Black Panther Party. Ture was a central figure in the development of the Black Power movement and a leader of the All-African People's Revolutionary Party.
