Shunryu Suzuki

Shunryu Suzuki was a Sōtō Zen monk and teacher instrumental in the popularization of Zen Buddhism within the United States. He founded the San Francisco Zen Center and established the first Zen Buddhist monastery outside of Asia. His collection of teachings, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, remains one of the most widely read books on Zen philosophy in the Western world.
