Sam Shepard
Samuel Shepard Rogers III (1943–2017) was an American playwright, actor, screenwriter, and director whose career spanned five decades. He authored 58 plays and numerous collections of short stories, essays, and memoirs. A recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and a record 10 Obie Awards, he was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1994 and received an Academy Award nomination for his performance in The Right Stuff.
