Robert Altman

Robert Bernard Altman (1925–2006) was an American filmmaker and a defining figure of the New Hollywood era. He was recognized for directing satirical films characterized by ensemble casts and overlapping dialogue. Throughout his career, he worked as a director, screenwriter, producer, editor, writer, librettist, theatre director, and actor, receiving numerous accolades including an Academy Honorary Award, two BAFTAs, and a Golden Globe.
