Orrin H. Pilkey

Orrin Hendren Pilkey Jr. (1934–2024) was an American marine geologist and Professor Emeritus of Earth and Ocean Sciences at Duke University. He served as the founder and director emeritus of the Program for the Study of Developed Shorelines. His academic career focused on marine ecology, oceanography, and the study of climate change impacts on coastal environments.
