Morris Louis

Morris Louis was an American painter active during the mid-twentieth century. He is recognized as one of the earliest exponents of Color Field painting and a central figure in the Washington Color School. Based in Washington, D.C., he worked alongside artists such as Kenneth Noland to develop a distinct approach to abstract art.
