Malik Gaines

Malik Gaines is an American writer, professor, and performance artist born in 1973. He is a member of the artist collective My Barbarian and serves as co-artistic director of The Industry opera company in Los Angeles. His multidisciplinary practice spans video work, music composition, and scholarly research, including the authorship of Black Performance on the Outskirts of the Left: A History of the Impossible.
