Leo Panitch

Leo Panitch (1945–2020) was a Canadian political scientist and professor at York University, where he served as a Canada Research Chair in comparative political economy. He was a long-term co-editor of the Socialist Register and authored numerous works including Working Class Politics in Crisis, The End of Parliamentary Socialism, and American Empire. His academic career focused on developing Marxist conceptual frameworks regarding democratic socialist alternatives to global capitalism.
