James Beard

James Andrews Beard (1903–1985) was an American chef, cookbook author, teacher, and television personality. He pioneered televised cooking programs and founded cooking schools in New York City and Oregon. Throughout his career, he published over twenty books and emphasized the use of fresh, wholesome ingredients to promote American culinary heritage. His legacy continues through the annual James Beard Awards.
