Inigo Jones
Inigo Jones (1573–1652) was a prominent English architect who introduced classical Roman and Italian Renaissance principles to England. He is recognized for pioneering the use of Vitruvian rules of proportion and symmetry in structures such as the Queen's House and the Banqueting House at Whitehall. Beyond his architectural legacy, Jones made significant contributions to the performing arts as a theatrical designer, creating stage sets for numerous royal masques.
