Han Kang

Han Kang is a South Korean writer born in 1970. She taught creative writing at the Seoul Institute of the Arts from 2007 to 2018. Her novel The Vegetarian won the International Booker Prize in 2016, and in 2024, she became the first Korean author and first Asian woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature for her poetic prose exploring historical trauma and human fragility.
