Gernot Bohme

Gernot Böhme (1937–2022) was a German philosopher and author known for his contributions to the philosophy of science, aesthetics, ethics, and philosophical anthropology. As a pioneer of German ecocriticism, he explored the relationship between culture and the environment. He served as the director of the Institute for Practical Philosophy in Darmstadt starting in 2005 and remains recognized as a significant figure in contemporary German intellectual thought.
