Claire Bishop

Claire Bishop is a British art historian and critic who has served as a Presidential Professor of Art History at the CUNY Graduate Center since 2008. Recognized as a central theorist of participation in visual art and performance, she is known for her influential 2004 essay, Antagonism and Relational Aesthetics. Her writing appears frequently in Artforum and October, and her books have been translated into twenty languages.
