Caroline Walker Bynum
Caroline Walker Bynum is an American historian and scholar specializing in the Middle Ages. She is a University Professor emerita at Columbia University and Professor emerita of Western Medieval History at the Institute for Advanced Study. A former president of both the American Historical Association and the Medieval Academy of America, she was the first woman appointed as a University Professor at Columbia.
