Andrew T. Scull

Andrew T. Scull is a British-born sociologist specializing in the social history of medicine and the history of psychiatry. He serves as a distinguished professor of sociology and science studies at the University of California, San Diego. A recipient of the Roy Porter Medal, his notable publications include Madhouse, Madness in Civilization, and Desperate Remedies.
