Albrecht Durer

Albrecht Dürer was a German painter, printmaker, and art theorist of the Renaissance. Born in Nuremberg, he gained widespread European influence through his high-quality woodcut prints. During his career, he maintained professional contact with major Italian artists such as Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci, and served as a protégé of Emperor Maximilian I starting in 1512.
